Plant Name: Tillandsia Tectorum
Origin: Ecuador
Description:
Tillandsia Tectorum is one of the most sought-after air plants. Its dense trichomes give it a beautiful, bright white appearance. The plant produces a purple inflorescence (spike) with lavender blooms. Tectorum is known for its soft, fuzzy feel and lightweight nature.
Care Instructions:
Tillandsia Tectorum requires light misting daily in dry climates or when there is insufficient dew or humidity. It should dry quickly, so a light to medium mist is sufficient. Avoid exposing it to high heat and heavy humidity, as it needs to dry adequately. When placed outdoors in humid conditions, ensure it receives ample air circulation.
Special Care Note:
The tectorum requires less water than most air plants. When watering, dunk the plant in water a few times each week. Avoid submerging the plant, but if you do, only leave it in water for a quarter of the time compared to other Tillandsia plants.
